How it works
Your photo is shown at a size that fits the tool. The frame represents a region of the original pixels, so moving or resizing it never throws away more detail than you choose. When you download, the browser draws only the framed region onto a fresh canvas at full resolution - the same sharpness as the source file.
Common crop uses

- 4:3 and 3:2 - classic photo prints (4×6, 5×7, 8×10).

Keep your subject
When you change ratio, aim the frame so the most important part of the photo stays inside. The resize handle grows from the top-left corner, so shrinking keeps the top-left area fixed - drag the frame to reposition first, then size it.
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping removes pixels you do not want; the pixels you keep are exported at their full original resolution, so quality is unchanged. It does reduce the total pixel count and therefore the maximum print size.
How do the aspect ratio presets work?
Selecting a preset, such as 4:3 or 16:9, locks the crop frame to that shape. Resizing the frame keeps the ratio, which is ideal for printing, social posts or video stills.
Can I undo a crop?
Just drop the same image again to start over - the original file on your device is never modified.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The crop preview and the final export are handled entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
